WEEKLY WRAP UP
Green beats Silver 9-8
In a come from behind, walk off win, Green beat Silver 9-8 on Wednesday night for its first win a while. Shawn Zolberg pitched a complete 7 inning gem for Green and was aided by a full team effort at the plate with most Green players getting 2 or more hits in the game. Key hits for Green came from Gavin Kemp and Rob Godfrey who combined for the winning run and RBI. For Grey, Ron Herzceg continued what seems to be a regular power hitting clinic with yet another home run. It was a well-played game by both teams.
Purple Haze Keeps Rolling
Purple Haze extended its winning streak to 3 games after a tidy 4-1 win over Black on Thursday night. The win was highlighted by a complete game by Stephen Lidsky, who received help from stellar defense all night, notably by Bruce Dorland, who turned three double plays at shortstop.
The offense was provided by Robbie Grossman, who continued his solid hitting campaign by going 4 for 4, Michael Schipper, playing in his first Haze game of the season and hitting a key two run single through a defensive shift, and Lidsky, who helped his cause with another home run.
Darren Levant pitched a complete game for Black and kept the Purple bats off balance all night long. It was a quick and well-played game on a warm night.
